John was my roommate at Penn State from Sept. 1966 to June 1967, room 404 Brumbaugh Hall. We had great times together. Just found out from reading the Nov/Dec 2015 Penn Stater. RIP John

Condolence to the Flaherty family. John, has fantastic family members and friends,he was a considerate and kind man, during his youth he enjoyed playing baseball in league play as well as the many pick up games we would organize back in the day when gloves, bats and balls were items to be shared in order to play. There are many fond memories of this fine family and our love and prayers are focused on knowing that the journey we follow always will lead us to the glory of our Lord and Savior. John, rest in peace and love. EC Selinsky

My heart goes out to Linda and Ray and all other family. There are so many memories of fun times from our childhood, but I always remember John as the quiet one. I enjoyed seeing and speaking to him at the family reunion in 2009 and was hoping we'd be able to reconnect. Now he's headed for a different kind of reunion and I'm certain he's being welcomed with open arms and loving hearts of all who have gone before. Godspeed Johnny!

My deepest sympathy to John's (Fluid's) family at this sad loss. John was my brother's friend, but I remember the fun we had visiting them in Virginia and when they visited here in Pittsburgh. He was always a kind and sweet guy! My prayers and thoughts are with "Fluid", his entire family and his many friends.
