John was such a bright light in the lives of so many people. He had the ability to make each person with whom he spoke feel valued and special. May his light continue to shine in our hearts and minds through our memories of him. My prayers and my heart are with each of his family members at this time.

John was a bright light in my life. He helped me realize, through love, what I'm truly capable of. Bless you sweet man. I shall be eternally grateful that Spirit/Creator led me to you. Peace be upon your journey my brother.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of your passing. Such a bright light gone way too soon. You will be greatly missed.

John was one of the kindest people I've ever met. We bonded over our love for music and bands, when we met while working at The University of Texas at Austin. I, too, was a music major, but not at UT, and my father played the flute, too!
My heart has been heavy since hearing the news, but I will rejoice because I had the opportunity to be a friend to this amazing human.
I send my deepest condolences to all of his family. Not many people get to influence and touch so many, as John did. What a pure heart he had, and I while I will miss him (I loved watching him strut up and down the field during halftime!), I am just so grateful I had the opportunity to bask in his glory and to know him.
His family and loved ones will remain in my prayers, and I hope they know we all knew how special he was, and he will never be forgotten.
With love,
Phaedra White Abbott
