Alix, my son just notified me about Dr. Fredrickson and how kind he was to my son who was in medical school at the time and was considering ENT and to me when we played golf at Norwood Hills. He was a truly wonderful person and gave me (Douglas J Fox) some very good golf instruction.

His University of Toronto family are so sad to hear of his passing. John had a remarkable impact on the treatment of patients both in Canada and the United States. As a H&N microvascular surgeon I have been living his legacy everyday in reconstructing defects of the head and neck. John was a pioneer in my field and an inspiration to us, I am certain his friends in Sweden who he mentored in developing techniques in H&N reconstruction are profoundly impacted by his passing. John's legacy in life and his profession is remarkable.

We are saddened to learn of John's passing. He is remembered fondly as true gentleman. I remember playing golf with him during our departmental outings. He always wanted to win. He was a great role model for young physicians and a good friend with his collegues. I remember him coming to my son's high school hockey game playing for the state championship which they won. We will hold him fondly in our memories.

Dear Alix and Family: I was privileged to serve John as his business manager at Washington University in St. Louis. Beyond his many significant accomplishments in medicine, I knew John as one of the kindest and most thoughtful persons I have known. Peace be with you and your family. Gary & Carole Fears.

He was so supportive of my career at Washington University and you both were so supportive and loving as we relocated our young family to St. Louis. We pray that your most blessed and beautiful memories and the support of your family and friends will somehow provide comfort to you during these difficult days.
