John GAGNON Obituary
On April 5, 2013, John Gagnon, passed away after courageous struggle with cancer at the age of 66 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, son Andre (Kristy), of St. Albert, his daughter Michelle (Warren) Cole, grandsons Caden and Trenton of Calgary. He also leaves his mother Mariette Gagnon, three brothers and six sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandniece. John was predeceased by his father Bernard Gagnon in 1995.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April, 11, 2013, 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert. Donations may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
During this time and in reflection the family asks that you remember John as he lived: with a smile, a laugh and a joke, a good word about everyone, his zeal for life and Love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. To send condolences, please visit

Whenever our paths crossed as cousins John was always sincerely interested in how things were going in my life and the lives of my family. We always parted knowing we'd caught up on what was happening in each others lives, we'd probably offered each other some advice on how to manuever through the comlicated times we were facing in life but more importantly we parted with a brief hug, a smile and a hearty laugh. Thanks for the warm memories John.

The memories of John are certainly endless. If John was your friend you had a friend for life. We have enjoyed a 35 year friendship with Margaret and John and are saddened to lose him way too soon. His talents were many and his antics were also many. He could always think of something impish to do to someone but it was always in good fun. Ed and I will particularly cherish our memories of the Friday night mixed curling games and the fun we had. We so enjoyed the "Gagnon Family Christmas Eve" gatherings that he made so special.

So sorry for you loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you Margaret, Andre and Kristy at this difficult time. I'm so shocked and sorry to hear about John's death in his battle with cancer, I didn't even know. I cherish all the years that John and I worked together while together at Guillevin or when I was with Modicon & Schneider Electric. We had many good laughs together and John was a super nice guy whose company I always enjoyed. I was so happy for John and Andre when they started up their Lift Boss company together and I will surely miss him along with many others who had known John.

We remember John as a bit of a prankster. One late evening, John and 2 of us Kinsmen, placed his firepit blocks under the rear wheels of the then presidents's vehicle, with the expectation that they would get in the car on Easter Sunday morning only to have the back wheels spin in the air. The joke was on us when they decided to ride to church in a family member's car rather than their own. It was all John's idea to pull the prank.
