John (W8PYQ---Pretty Young Queen) and two other Amateur Radio operators taught a class on ham radio in 1958. That was my introduction to the hobby. I remember fondly many occasions we would get together. Warmest condolences to the Family. Ted Hartson WA8ULG, Parks AZ

We are saddened to hear of John's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
I remember so vividly being your family neighbor on Borden Drive in Battle Creek in the 1950's/60's. Your family always seemed so close. I also remember your Dad's humor, a humor so keen....... and similar to his brother, Robert's. John Galloup, Bob Galloup, Raymond Allen were always among several men that we saw at St. Philip Church on Sundays handling the ushering. And I remember him as one of the Marywood golf fun gang who enjoyed the game and company of others so much. Wonderful days and times in the 50's and 60's in Battle Creek.
We know that many will miss him. May he enjoy peace.

I remember I use to delivery to his home years ago and he would give me a $5 tip and told me it would buy a gallon of gas each time. Had a great personality and was always a please to see him.

I only met John a couples of times back in the late 2000"s. He was a friend of my father's, and the two of them would - for a good number of years - go out once a week for breakfast. My father, Gene, always spoke highly of his friend, John. As dad became ill, in 2010 and could no longer go out for the weekly chat and eat, he told me that one of the things he missed most, besides his wife, our mom, was when he would get together with John. My condolences to the family for your loss.

Dear Uncle John,
I will miss our lovely telephone conversations, especially our discussions of music, including your memories of learning to play the boogie-woogie, as a young man.
Last week on the radio, I heard a keyboard piece composed by Wm. Bolcom in memory of his Father. It's called "The Graceful Ghost Rag". I feel it is a beautiful tribute to the journey of a life. I've included a link here, for those so inclined.
Love to you and all your family.

My memories of John were through the company. We served on the Board for many years together. His business insight was always helpful and his sense of humor made even the most difficult discussions easier. John's personal visits to the company were always a welcome event. He had a special ways of showing appreciation for what we employees did. We are all better for knowing John. To Ann and Steve and the entire Galloup family, know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you cope with the loss of your Dad.
