John was truly a Great Man and Accordion Player. I use to spend hours playing different Accordions at his store and listening to John play his Accordion. Love you John and keep the angels singing in Heaven.

John Gaunt - What have I learned from you John? You were a friend, musician, jokester, dancer, giver, lover (to Jan), father, landlord, and dog sitter. Once again, I have learned something from you: You enjoyed every aspect of your life and lived it to the fullest. God Bless you and remember I will see you again when my time comes.

John was the most immediately likeable person I ever met. I didn't see him very often but most recently before he retired I stoped by his shop a couple of times and we had great conversations. The world needs more John Gaunts. He'll be easy to find in Heaven, just listen for his music.✝

I visited John 2-3 times a year for the last 20 years when I would come to town. Last time his store was closed, now I just found out he passed. As I tried accordions we would talk. He always spoke of Jan , and showed me their pictures everytime. I am distraught as a friend and accordionist at John's passing. My best wishes go out to Jan and John's family as they carry onward.

This has been very difficult for me to write. John was the love of my life, my soul mate, best friend and Significant Other for 29 years. He was the most wonderful, caring, loving person, I have ever known and I miss him terribly. I do not know another couple, who could say, that they never had a fight and that every minute they spent together made them both feel whole. When he left, he took my heart with him, and I fear that I will never get it back. I know that he is watching over me and that one day we will dance together again, in God's Kingdom.

I bought my first accordion from John when he was working from his house, and meeting up at T-Bones. He came through for me 100% of the times, including the time he gave me a loaner on Dec. 30 and a NY eve gig the next day. Met at the shop and good to go, one of many times. And always a joke to go with any visit. All us in the accordion family will miss him.

We have known John for 30 year's. He gave me the info on buying the house across the street from him, we did. John watched our dog when we traveled, took him to work when we needed him to. He loved to watch our dog. He was our transportation to the airport, as we were for him. We were very good friend's. He was a great neighbor, we'll miss him.

John was a friend for many years. I have purchased accordions from him and was happy that his store was so close. He came to my rescue several times to loan one to me when mine was being repaired. He greeted everyone with a big smile and always had a joke or a funny story to tell. He loved to play the accordion and was a wonderful dancer with Jan, an angel in his life. He will surely be missed. My thoughts for peace and comfort are with Jan and his family. Barbara St. Denis

My prayers go out to John's family and Jan. Having known John for over 25 years in the dance community I will think of him whenever I am at a dance event he and Jan would attend. John always had a joke and loved the ladies. But he loved Jan and no one doubted that. John led life to the fullest. We should all remember that lesson. Rest in peace John. I know you are dancing in Heaven.

John was a friend of mine for many years. I have purchased accordions from him and he always came to my rescue to loan one to me if mine was being repaired. I was so happy that his store was close by and was always greeted with a big smile. He always had a funny story or a joke to tell and loved playing the accordion at many of our local accordion clubs. He was a wonderful dancer with Jan, an angel in his life. He will surely be remembered for his love of music, kindness, and his happy outlook on life. I could not have asked for a better and nicer employer for 30+ years. He was more of a father to me than my own dad. He was very forgiving, generous and a kind hearted soul. He was surrounded by the nicest people and customers anyone could hope to have as friends. I will always miss him.

To Jan & the Gaunt family. I knew John through our mutual dancing spots dating back to at least 1990. He was one of the nicest people my late husband, Al, & I ever met. There was never a time that he didn't have a big smile on his face & was ready to share a joke with you. He will certainly leave a legacy of love, music & smiles to anyone he met. So sorry for your loss.

John & I were friends for over 40 years. He played his accordion at many of my Christmas parties. He was a true friend with a happy personality. He was always upbeat and funny with a good joke to share.
To Jan & John -
"Our common journey taught us to value one another's causes, just as It opened the door to our individual claims. I do not love you less for deserting our common path, for the memory of each step is what sustains me as I grope toward higher ground. Oh, my love, I thank you for never letting go of my hand." I am so so sorry to have lost a true hero to myself and my wife, Pat. John helped us when we were at our lowest financial situation in our lives. He not only became our landlord but a trusted friend. His humor, jokes, for every occasion will never be forgotten. His wisdom and humor as we recreated our financial and emotional life was so compassionate and helpful. We thank you John and pray your next journey is fill of joy and humor. Love always, Pat and Frank

I'm going to miss you so much, Johnny. You were an awesome big brother. Thank you for loving, protecting and even teasing me all these years. Your last gift was seeing the peaceful look and smile on your face when you left us. It really helped ease my pain knowing you were no longer suffering. Give Mom and Dad and all our loved ones already in Heaven with you a big hug for me. Your brat sister will love and remember you always.
