John Goetz

My condolences on the passing of John. The last time I saw him was at one of our class reunions that his sister Penny was also attending. He had changed little, still the same smile and friend. May you always remember the good times you had with him.

My husband, John, and I knew John and Penny during my last year at BHS and had some good times, as teenagers do in high school. We met John at a reunion a few years ago and got caught up with our lives for the last many years. He looked great and was the same John we remembered. We were shocked to learn of his passing and pray for strength in your time of grief.

We have many happy memories of each of you, especially hunting Easter eggs and singing with you at the Christmas Eve parties at the Burnette Farm. When I lived in Lynchburg I always enjoyed working football games with John. We always had a big laugh over the spelling and pronunciation of his last name. Spelled Goetz and pronounced Gates. I always told him he didn't know how to spell his own name. Rest in Peace my friend and same a spot on the fottball field for me up there.
