John Arthur Graves

Cynthia, I did not know of John’s passing until today. I am so very saddened to hear this belated news. I will hold the memories of our travels together in my heart. You and your family are in my prayers.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Graves. I worked for him early in my engineering career at Evan-Graves Associates from '83 -'86 before relocating to Florida. I always had the utmost respect for John as an engineer, businessman and as a person. He and his firm had a positive impact on my career. A well-lived life!

Dearest Cynthia and Family, I can’t even imagine your shock, loss and grief at this moment. Both Jim and I have mourned JAG all week. He was a friend, Father figure, leader and mentor. It’s so obvious in your family that you both created. What a beautiful life the two of you created. I cry as I write this. I know there are limits giving the current Covid situation and gatherings. Our hearts are heavy, but our spirits consoled knowing that Johnny is is peace with his Maker and those who have passed before him. I'm truly saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Graves. What an outstanding legacy he leaves in the state of Louisiana and in his beautiful family. My heart goes out to all of the Graves.

John Graves was a true friend to many and a devoted family man. He was a very gifted engineer while showing his soft side with a genteel smile. I just want to offer my condolences to the family of John Graves. I first met John in 1973 when Edward E. Evans hired me as an apprentice draftsman (after I agreed to get my hair cut). I remember John as a very intelligent, gentle, soft spoken man that treated everyone with dignity, respect and fairness. He will be missed by many.
