I met John playing an MMORPG. We spent five or six hours together online with other friends for six hours many days. Once, John and I stayed up nearly 24 hours, telling jokes. Then we met at an in-person gathering camping in Arizona where we became fast friends for life. Visits between Minnesota and Florida happened, and we traveled to other places together on short trips. John was my friend and I will miss him every day. My heart aches. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. My condolences to his family.

I met John on the first day of our Army enlistment. John provided an intelligent quick wit to any discussion which the sergeants appreciated. He soon excelled at doing push-ups. Someone nick-named him, "Johnny Company." I lost contact with him when he moved to Florida but had reconnected recently. I looked forward to meeting John again: joking, laughing and reminiscing about the Army days. He spoke fondly of his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
I am glad to have known John and will miss him.
Rest in Peace Johnny Company.
