John was always a blessing to Nury, Jazmin and myself. We never went anywhere else for anything car related. It was truly an honor to get to know him over the years.

I first met John in Amy Johannamen's split 5th/6th grade class. Since we lived in the same neighborhood, we usually to and from school together and became friends. John, Mike, my brother Rick and I spent summers together much like the kids portrayed in the movie "Stand By Me". We built "forts" in the woods, made homemade go carts out of old lawn mowers and, we went on bicycle rides to John's uncle's lake to go swimming. When their house burned down, John and Mike lived with us while their new house was being built. It was like having your best friends getting to sleep over for days and days.
When John bought his service station it became our favorite place to "hang out" although I'm sure we weren't really that good for business. John never complained.
While visiting home two years ago, I stopped in to visit John at the station. I told him I had an incurable form of leukemia. He must have hugged me at least six times.
I returned home again this past summer and got to visit with John. I was profoundly saddened to hear of his poor health. My sympathy and condolences to Marilyn, his children and all the members of the Hagedorn family. He will be remembered and missed.

John Hagedorn will be greatly missed. I miss him already.
He was the best mechanic I ever known and a great human being. He was so generous, honest and hardworking. I truly love him in Christ and I cheer my time with him. He has great children and I know he is proud of them. He has a great and brave wife. Now, he is resting with Our Lord. Our family prayers are with his family.
