John Lee Hamelman, 81, of Delphi, Indiana, passed away on November 4, 2023. He was born on August 26, 1942, in Templeton, Indiana. John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

John's marriage to Dina Hamelman on July 14, 1984, was a testament to their enduring love. Dina survives him and will cherish their memories together. John had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies such as fishing, mushroom hunting, bird watching, and taking long car rides to see wildlife. He also found joy in visiting family and friends and playing the lottery. John's warm presence and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Dina Hamelman, and his children, Shell Yates (Rick), Lori Snodgrass (Dave), and Cassandra Freeland (Gary Turner). He is also survived by his sister, Cignora Lee (Rex), daughter-in-law Liza Hayden, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ricky Yates (Tamara), Ashley Musser (Cody), Dylan Yates (Megan), Justin Gick (Michelle), Lindsay Snodgrass, Gary Lockwood, Devon Freeland (Logan), Axis Hayden, Owen Gick, Olivia Gick, Colin Yates, Addison Yates, Lehnen Yates, Lively Yates, Crue Yates, Nora Yates, Emma Yates, and Katie.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruby Hamelman, and his siblings, Harry Hamelman, Evelyn, Grace Martin, Patricia Kinkade, and Veronica Senesac. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Jeremy Hayden, and his long-lost buddy, Charlie Green.

In his professional life, John had a successful career in management at A.O. Smith before retiring. His dedication and hard work were admired by his colleagues and friends.

A celebration of John's life will be held on November 12th at 10:30 A.M. at his home, located at 11610 West 550 North, Delphi, IN. The family invites all who knew John to join them in honoring his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests monetary donations in Dina Hamelman's name. These contributions will help cover John's arrangements and support Dina, who has been unable to work for several months while caring for John. Your support in this difficult time is greatly appreciated.

My husband Denny Stinson, John and Charlie Green were close friends in school and after. Denny thought of John as a friend who never forgot anyone! RIP John you will find your friends in heaven waiting to see you!
