We just heard of the passing of your son John - our most heartfelt sympathy to you all at this most difficult time. He sounded like such an intelligent, fun young man. Hugs to all!

From another UND aviation family, our hearts are broken for your family's loss. May all the love and prayers surrounding you lift you up during this time of sorrow. Sending prayers for strength, healing, and eventual peace to your family and John's close friends and frat brothers.

While I did not know your son, my oldest attended UND. He also studied commercial aviation as well as air traffic control. My deepest sympathies. We lost our youngest at age 19. We lived in Oswego, IL for 11 years. If you would ever like to talk, please know I am here to listen.

I saw the notice in the Tribune, I never met any of you, but I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. I pray for your family for healing and for eventual peace.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to the Hauser family. I had the incredible blessing to teach both Grace and John. It is through teaching Algebra that I learned of John´s determination, creative thinking and sense of humor. We not only learned about solving for x or how to graph a line but we talked about life, about purpose and about faith. I will always remember him rolling his eyes when I use to call him Dr. Hauser. I am extremely grateful that I was able to run into John when he was working at Margie´s. He treated myself and my husband with complimentary ice cream and was excited about his future endeavors. Often times as a teacher we focus on helping to make a difference in the lives of our students but he made a difference in mine. Forever will John hold a place in my heart. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know and teach him. May he Rest In Peace and watch over you always.

To all of the Hauser family, we want to extend our biggest, heartfelt condolences in the loss of your John. Our son is a sophomore aviation student at UND and this has been a hard time for everyone. The campus was very somber in the days after and the aviation students shocked and saddened. We cannot imagine your heartbreak and will pray for your family´s peace and strength.

As a UND Commercial Aviation and Delt Mom, this tragic loss hurts on a visceral level. My heart truly breaks for you and your family! We are fellow parishioners at St. Ben's. We are so deeply sorry for the loss of your beautiful son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Clearly, in his too-brief time with us on earth, John touched and shaped the lives of others. By his example, he inspired others to become their best versions of themselves. What an extraordinary accomplishment in just 19 years.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I knew John from CRF, but not as well as others since I graduated in 2018. I know he was great friends with Jack Newhall (who I knew a bit better). People are influenced a lot by who they choose to surround themselves with, and I know Newhall was a good, solid guy, and so John must have shared many of those good qualities. More to the point: a lot of guys on the team had made fun of me for this, that, or the other, and John was never one of them. I only have positive memories of John. I want you to know that I've recently prayed the Rosary on behalf of John's soul. I prayed for him at Mass last Sunday, and I'll pray for him again this Sunday as well as next Tuesday (All Souls' Day).

My son is a graduate of the UND Aviation program and is currently a CFI. The aviation community and their families grieve for your inconceivable loss. John's passing has touched the life of so many. I currently live is Minneapolis but I am a native Chicagoan and when family and friends there read the Chicago Trib I received calls from family and friends expressing their sympathies and asking to extend their condolences to you and your family. Our prayers will continue for you so that in time you may find some kind of healing and peace. Grant eternal rest to John, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.
