Obituary
John T. Hodny, 62, Grand Forks, ND died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at home.
John Theodore Hodny was born on May 16, 1942 the son of Ted and Gertrude (Greicar) Hodny in Park River, ND. He was raised on the family farm near Lankin, ND where he attended school graduating from Lankin High School in 1960. He moved to Grand Forks, ND and attended Aakers Business College. John married Judith I. Vasichek on November 23, 1963 in Bechyne Catholic Church, Lankin. He worked 24 years as a truck driver for Midwest Motor Express then later for the University of North Dakota in mail service retiring in August of 2002. John is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Les) Arnold, Marion, IA and their children, Layne, Tanner and Trevor; his son, Darren (Karina), Fargo, ND and their children, Camryn, Lauren and Maxwell; his parents, Ted and Gertrude Hodny, Park River, ND. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith on February 5, 2002. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday with a 5:00 p.m. vigil service in Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel - Norman Funeral Home, S. Washington St., Grand Forks, ND. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND. Gregory J. Norman - Norman Funeral Home, S. Washington St., Grand Forks, ND.

John and I grew up together in Lankin as young boys. On Saturday nights we'd go to a movie (.05) at Roger Vorachek's theatre and after the show "run" Main Street and go in and out of his grandparent's beer tavern until midnight. Later, we kept in touch after I moved to Brocket in 1953 by going to Kosobud Hall and Bechnye dances.
I knew his good wife Judy too. They were good folks. My best to their family.

John and I went to Aakers at the same time and no matter where I would see him, after we graduated, he always remembered me, that meant a lot.
