I am so trilled to read your entries regarding my Father J.C. Holland Jr. It has really helped lift my spirit. My Father was always in a good mood and very positive. He had a great smile and loved to laugh. I will miss him dearly.

Jack was my first leader in my first fleet squadron. We shared many eventful flights over Vietnam. I believe that Jack's experience and skill had a lot to do with me making it safely through that first cruise. Jack was also a kind man, a heck of a nice guy, and the best darn bomber on the ship. I'll miss you Jack.

I first met Jack at Pensacola in pre-flight training in May,1954- he was the Regimental Commander and as a NavCad in the ranks we all looked up to him and were especially impressed since he carried a sword and we carried M1's. Jack was in a class one month ahead of me so I didn't much of him again until years later on NWA when we flew together. He was a terrific pilot and a good guy to fly with- he made some long trips short with his sense of humor and aviation talk. I'll miss him and my sincere condolences to his family.

We have known Jack since he flew A4s from the USS Bon Homme Richard. A terrific person, always happy, and a "good stick" as a pilot. Our prayers and hearts are with the family.

I only worked with John a few times during my time at Northwest Airlines. However, I remember him fondly. He was a pleasure to fly with, competent, pleasant, and each trip was one that I looked forward to.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones, and I pray his journey will be a good one and that he'll rest peacefully.

Blue skies,
