John Peter Hooge

I went to school with John in Kindersley, Saskatchewan from 6th grade onwards. I knew John and his parents quite well. John's father was our family doctor. John was a very conscientious student throughout his schooling in our hometown. We used to play pick-up baseball with friends and John often provided the bats. He did a great job at the U of S and became a fine physician. We took different paths for many years and then by sheer coincidence were physicians at St Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. John continued to be a deeply thoughtful doctor, much like his father. His patients in neurology thought the world of him. While we never reconnected socially, I always had great admiration and affection for John. This note comes late because I just recently found out about his passing. Rest well John. You have lived a full and kind life. Bruce McManus.
