John Christopher Howard
June 3, 1954 – December 21, 2024

John Christopher Howard passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, at the age of 70. Born in Coulee Dam, Washington, on June 3, 1954, he was the cherished son of Jack and Dorothy Howard. John graduated with honors from Sherwood High School in 1972 as an Eagle Scout and Student Body President and went on to pursue his passion for the natural world earning a degree in geography from Oregon State University. He spent much of his life in Oregon, where he raised his family before relocating to Seattle, Washington, in 2006.

John was known for his love of sports-whether playing, coaching, or cheering from the sidelines. His enthusiasm was contagious and he made countless memories on and off the field with friends, teammates, and family alike. A dedicated advocate for environmental sustainability
and a lifelong volunteer, John devoted much of his time to causes close to his heart. Outside of his work and community involvement, John had a fondness for fine wine, and many cherished moments were spent with friends savoring good conversations and great bottles of Pinot Noir.

John is lovingly remembered by his siblings Charlotte Howard, Patricia (Felix) Vicknair, Beth (David) Howard-Pitney, George Howard, and Jane (Ron) Harrell; his children Andrea (Joe) Kocer, Lisa Parrish, and Riley Howard; his five cherished grandchildren: Daxton, Rori, Bryce, Mara, Vivi and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Singleton, son-in-law Michael Parrish and sister-in-law Terrie Reding.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his legacy inspire others to care deeply for the world around them and to cherish life's simple joys.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 16th at 1:00 p.m. in The Mountain Room at The Old Rainier Brewery, located at 3100 Airport Way S., Seattle, WA 98134.
