Sad to hear of John's passing, sending prayers and condolences to the family. We are also saddened to find out that our cousin Monique had passed away. My sister Diane and I send thoughts and prayers to both families. Be strong and know you are loved.

It's always a sad day when an old soldier passes on. Those of us who knew John from DBS, then Stats Can remember him as a true gentleman. He was respectful, well mannered, fair minded and always fun to be around. He always had an opinion, no matter the subject. He made an impression and will be missed by a dwindling number of co-workers who knew him. My deepest condolences to him family.

May the thoughts and prayers of John's many friends comfort you. I'm also so sorry I didn't know Monique had passed. They were both well loved and respected at STC.
My late husband, Terry, enjoyed a trip to Barbados with John and Cliff Sayer in the 70s, just before I arrived at STC. We both valued those friendships.
Sincerely,

This is sad news indeed. I worked with John in the '70s first as a coop student and then as a new recruit at Stats Can. He was always into something or other whether the Friday night BSMD curling league or lunch "down the street". Whenever I think of John I hear our colleague's frustrated voice correcting that day's JCL saying, "Jezz John, the comma." It always made me smile.
I did not continue to curl, unlike my friends and spouse. So I have not seen John in some time. But I have thought of him often and always with great fondness.
I offer my sincerest condolences to the family. Both Monique and John will be missed.

Dear Mike and the Hunton family,
I was very sad to learn of John's passing. He was such a fun loving and respected clubmate and friend at the Carleton Heights Curling Club. We will all miss him very much at the club. We have a lot of fun memories that will keep him in our hearts. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.

My condolences to the family. Somewhat surprised to learn that Monique passed away. It was just last October that we chatted and she updated me about John. Farewell, dear StatsCan lunchtime buddies and dear friends.

This is sad news indeed and I offer my most sincere condolences to the Hunton family. While I had not seen John and Monique for many years, I still recall what a great and loving couple they were. We all worked together at the former Dominion Bureau of Statistics and spent many hours socializing outside work as well. John was a true gentle man and Monique a great lady. They will surely be missed but are together again. Rest in peace old friends
