Sharing photos of Patricks friends
Chuck Wilson
February 14, 2023
When you talk about my friend Pat Low, the question is not 'what do I say about Pat'.....it's 'where do I start to summarize 50 years of friendship'!....the trips, the parties, the golf.....on and on....
I think the true measure of a friend is how your friendship grows, and I can honestly say that I was closer to Pat near the end than I ever was.
Pat was larger than life....he was a party guy....he had a great sense of humor and was a quick with a laugh. Whenever I picture Pat in my minds eye, he always had a big smile.
Past and I were roommates back in the early 1980s....a unique experience indeed! On hot weekend afternoons, Pat would make pitchers of daiquiris and pour for everyone at our Condo pool. He turned the pool into a party and soon became a favorite character at our complex.
We stayed in touch even as he moved away to Atlanta to start a new life. When he returned to the Twin Cities years later, we picked up right where we left off. As best friends do, we did so much together ....golf, movies, dinners...etc.
When Pat's health took him to Arizona, I made it a point to visit him when I could. We went to ball games, played golf, took day trips to the Grand Canyon or Antelope Canyon. We made a lot of memories in the last several years even as his health began to decline.
For the last couple of years, I spoke to (or texted) Pat at least every other day. I communicated with Pat about everything...his health, sports, politics, etc......I feel a real void by not being able to reach out to my friend to talk about life.
For the people who knew Pat, they know that Pat was one of a kind.
I miss him every day.
