John "Jack" Andrew Massey, Jr.

John "Jack" Andrew Massey, Jr. San Clemente - John "Jack" Andrew Massey, Jr. passed away peacefully February 21st, 2023, on his 89th Birthday. Jack was the eldest son of John Massey Sr. and Gertrude Carpenter Massey. John Sr. founded the oldest family business still active in Swampscott - Massey Plumbing and Heating. Jack is survived by two siblings, Dick and Donna Massey. His sister Ann Massey Burnham passed away in 2022. Jack graduated from Swampscott High School in 1951 and Cornell University's School of Engineering in 1956. After two years serving in the Navy, he began his career as a Civil Engineer and Construction Manager in New York City, where he met his wife of 61 years, Jenifer "Jiffy" Morgan of Darien, CT.

Their lives took them to Tanzania, East Africa for 6 years where John started with the U.S. Agency for International Development-USAID. Jack and Jiffy then traveled to 79 countries over their life together and made their home in San Clemente, CA in 1978.

Jack is survived by his wife Jiffy and three children; Hilary Billings, John Andrew Massey III, Justin Massey and eight grandchildren ages 27 to 7 years old. Jack is deeply loved by his family and will be remembered for his kindness, inquisitiveness, and his dignity. He was a true gentleman in every way.
