John "Jack" Charles Menaugh

September 25, 1935 - August 19, 2025

John "Jack" Charles Menaugh, of Florissant, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 25, 1935, to Kathryn "Kay" and John "Johnnie" Menaugh. Jack was one of a kind. He had a gift for making people laugh, often leaving friends and family shaking their heads at his antics. A true jokester at heart, he brought humor and light everywhere he went.

He attended Beaumont High School and began his working life at a paper box company in St. Louis. Jack helped run the family barbecue businesses- "Little Pigs" and, later, MBM Barbeque alongside his parents, sister Joan, and her husband Richard Barnett. Over the years, he continued to work in the food and beverage industry at the Mayfair Hotel and the Lockhaven Golf Club. He even tried his hand as a blackjack dealer at the Alton Belle Casino and eventually finished his career at the Florissant Golf Course, where he remained active until age 89. Along the way, he made countless friends and was known throughout the community for his hard work, quick wit, and friendly nature.

Jack loved golfing, fishing, and trying his luck at the casino, but above all, he loved his family. Affectionately known by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Charlie", "Jackson", "Grandpa Nerd," "Grandpa Lawnmower," "Pawee," "Silly Papa," and even "Scary Grandpa," he brought joy, laughter, and a touch of mischief to every family gathering. His love for animals, especially his pet cats and the wild neighborhood kitties he cared for, was another testament to his kind heart.

Jack is survived by his children: Vicki Fauser, Kevin (Sue) Menaugh, Keith (Kathleen) Menaugh; stepson Bill (Betsy) Martin; grandchildren: Jennifer (Keith) Auer, Ryan, Alex, Kathryn (Miles) Morton, Joel Martin, Scott Martin, Jeff (Taylor) Martin; and bonus grandson "Little Jack Campbell." He also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Harrison, Marlow, Josie, Ella, Penny, Hailey, Briana, Brody, Annabelle, and Sophia; as well as his nephews and many dear friends. The family extends special gratitude to his devoted companion of thirteen years, Tammy, for her care and loving presence during his final days.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Menaugh; grandson, Daniel Menaugh; sister, Joan Barnett; and his parents, Kay and Johnnie Menaugh.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Jack will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his laughter, and his unforgettable presence.
