Ranger - To one of the best men I ever knew. I was always proud to be your assistant SID at Oklahoma and more proud to be your friend. There will never be another one like you.

Great memories of good times with a true friend -- the Ranger.

Dear Keith Family-
How very sad I was to learn of the loss of your precious Ranger. When someone you love dies, it leaves an empty spot in your hearts which could never be filled by any other person. Soon, in a new world of god's making, all pain, suffering and sickness will be gone forever. Until then, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Ranger,
A great friend of NMSU Football when I was there. He came from a time when the S.I.D. and the Head Football coach were so close. I used to look forward to hearing his stories of the old NU-OU games and his times with then NU SID Don ' Fox" Bryant. Speaker was one of the coolest dogs I ever met. John and I shared the same dream for NMSU and I will appreciate that. Thanks for the great times Ranger. I will always consider you a friend.

to those of us who knew and loved johnny and his alter-ego 'the ranger' his passing leaves a void. a severed connection to things that were fun, the tennant that live is only what you make of it; not what others make of it for you. both johnny and the ranger lived by their own set of rules and i never saw nor sensed a moment of regret that he lived as he did. happy trails, ranger. save us a seat by the campfire.

Johnny Keith you were the greatest.I will never forget the fun we had at City Hall. Your stories were always hilarious and positive. Thank you for being my friend. It is so like you to "check out" during "March Madness". You now have a better view to watch all of the basketball games.

John, you will be missed! There has been a quiet void at the Bulletin while you were out ill, but this reality is tough. Your Bulletin family - every one of us - love and miss you! You will be forever remembered for your unique presence - for there was no one like you in the world! I know you are flyin' with the angels, John. Cannot wait to see you again, friend.

I'll miss you Johnny Kieth. You were a great writer, a good PIO for the city and my friend. I counted my self lucky that you were my friend. I thought your guest sports editorials were tops and looked forward to them all the time.

I can't believe I am writing this, especially because Ranger was always so full of life I guess I was in denial about how ill he was. He was one of the first people I met when I first came to NM State in 1986 and we became fast friends. From NMSU basketball and football games to Shutt Open Golf Tournaments in Ruidoso at the end of each basketball season, Ranger always found the humor in everything and lived life to the fullest. Speaker lived the life of Riley....I loved that dog and man did Ranger spoil him!! Speaker came to a few Shutt Open's too as I recall as did Ranger's son Duke. My heart breaks as I write this because I remember all the good times I had whenever he was around and because I know now that I will never again hear his laughter and witty comments...RIP Old Man, I love you.....

John was always such an interesting conversation. I loved talking sports with him when I would come home to visit my Grampa Harry Burdick and would run into him at church. Very funny guy who will be missed. Our prayers are with all those who loved and enjoyed having him in their lives.
