I still think about my father every day and I deeply appreciate the memories that others have shared here. They allow me a peek into the aspects of his life and legacy that I wouldn't otherwise know, and that is priceless. Thank you.

Dr. King was one of my two favorite professors at UNCG in the early 1980's. I took his logic and philosophy of science classes and enjoyed them immensely. His enthusiasm was infectious and he made my time there much more tolerable than it might otherwise have been. RIP Dr. King.

I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with John at UNCG. He was a gifted teacher and just a great all around person. I'm a philosophy professor myself now (due in part to John's encouragement) and I try to be like John was - engaging, caring, and never too busy to talk with and listen to my students.

John's commitment to his students was inexhaustible. I had the good fortune of being his student from 96-00. From my first semester when I took logic with him into my early years as a philosophy professor, John was always willing to take the time to lend a sympathetic ear and offer his support. From John I learned so much about pedagogy, philosophy, and being a good person. I am saddened to read of his passing and thankful for the opportunity to know John King.

Thank you, Mr. Acker! It means a great deal to me to hear about my dad from other people's perspectives. He did love teaching, and really enjoyed hearing from former students. Thanks for looking him up and for leaving such a lovely comment.

I am so sad to read about the passing of my favorite professor from UNC-G. I was looking him up on the internet to try and re-establish contact with him and to make sure I thanked him properly for all of his support when I was his student. It is hard to imagine a college professor that could inspire more thought and growth than John King. Additionally, he was just about the nicest person on the campus. My sincere condolences to his family. Jeffrey M. Acker, Esq.

John was an old friend that we hadn't seen in years. We had many fond memories of the time we spent with John and Anne, especially at the coast. My husband Merrill and I had talked about it recently and wondered how they were doing. Anne and Jenny, we are so sorry that he was taken from you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

John was a valued colleague during my many years at UNCG. He always asked such penetrating questions in his unique, delightful way.
To Anne and family I send my deepest sympathy.
