John Kloss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 28 to Jun. 29, 2019.
John W. Kloss, age 62, of Greenfield Township, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, following a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Erie, on May 31, 1957, son of the late Joseph and Joyce Coffey Kloss.

John was a graduate of Wattsburg High School and had extended credits at EIT and Penn State Behrend. He had certifications as a welder, boiler tender and electronics communications technician. He was also a Pennsylvania certified inspection mechanic.

John was a lifetime member of St. Gregory R.C. Church and the NRA. He first worked at Inland Container and then was a Building Equipment Mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a rural carrier and census taker. John loved farming, hunting, shooting, fixing anything electronic, and his collection of Sears Lawn Tractors. He had a generous heart and loved helping people with their projects.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tamara Hazuda Kloss; four brothers, Joseph (Mary Lee), Vincent (Marlene), Jerome, and Patrick Kloss; six sisters, Joanne Kloss Conti, Helen Kloss, Rosalie Edinger (David), Marion Kloss, Judith Kloss, and Dolores Slagle (David); one brother-in-law, George Hazuda (Rebecca Larson); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George Kloss; and one sister, Margaret Kloss.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory R.C. Church. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.

Dear Brother John,
Love and miss you everyday. Still so hard to know you're not here. Hopefully Patrick is with you in heaven. Stafford passed recently here 2025, maybe you see him too. One never gets used to not seeing you tinkering with your lawn tractors and doing good deeds for people. I will never forget you little brother.

God Bless & Love your sister Helen

My Dear Sweet Brother John,
On Thursday June 25th 2020 it'll be a year that you went home to heaven. Still it is unbelievable that you're really gone. When driving by your house seeing your collection of lawn trackers, hay baler and other tractors, old cars, your 454 Chevy truck your big barn/garage and I imagine you're in there puttering with something and that I might stop and chat a moment, but you're not there but you are always forever in my heart and always in my thoughts and prayers. I truly miss you very much as we all do. You are forever loved my little brother. God Bless you with enormous bunches of love.

Most Sincerely With Love,
Your Sister,
Helen

Joanne and Vince...A recent call with an old Wattsburg friend shared with me your brother's passing. John's enough years younger that I have no memory of whether I ever knew him. But, this period of our lives is a period where Life begins to harvest a generation at an increasing clip. I haven't lost a sibling yet, and all of us seem in pretty good health...but all around me...many are not so lucky.

I hope the world for both of you, prior to John's passing, was abundant and full...and that your grieving of John's passing brings healing and new growth that such events in our life demands. My best wishes for the family's healing and recovery process.

Our dear brother John lives with us in memory
Before our eyes he grew weaker every day while trying to hang on. We did all we could to save him, until God took him away home to Heaven. Never shall his memory fade, our sweetest love lingers, forever knowing he's in our loving Lord's arms and feeling he's so much better now. Amen

To my 6'6" little brother John..I love and miss you so much. I know you're in heaven now, but it still hurts so much that you're not here. You are now released from your pain and suffering and are at peace with our loving Lord. Heaven is a much more happier place with you there. I have many fond memories to hold onto, but it will never be quite the same. Please say hello to Mom,Daddy,Margaret and George for us all. You are a special and blessed soul, God made you extra special and I am honored to have and had you as my brother. God Bless you and Keep you with love..AMEN
