Thoughts and prayers to his family

My heart is heavy- with sadness, memories, and the essence of a life that I was once was blessed to know since grade school at St. Joan of Arc. I just spent Christmas Mass there with my family - very ironic, as I am just now learning of John's passing. I send my love, prayers, and healing to all who loved John. Xo

I met John when he stepped forward to help two men he didn't know. I enjoyed knowing him far more than I could ever make him understand. Over and over he impressed me with his humility, integrity and compassion. This world was a better place with John in it. I will miss him and my heart is broken for his friends and family. My thoughts, prayers and love are with all of you.

My heart is broken. My wonderful nephew always enriched our lives, always made us smile, always made his family feel loved, and always filled the room with his amazing personality. Words can't begin to express how he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with my sister (Jan), Katie, Lauren, Andrea, and everyone who loves him. May our family find the strength to endure the pain of his loss. Jackie will always be in our hearts. May he be at peace.

I am sorry to hear news of John's passing. When I was a senior at Grosse Pointe North, John was a junior. We both played for Frank Sumbera's varsity football team. The bonds and friendships formed via sports teams is absolutely amazing. Rest in peace my friend and put in a good word for us all.
