I and my friend, bass player Rob Morrissey, opened for John at the local Grange Hall in Montague Center, MA around 1978. In `81 I took an Americana type band to California by way of Austin, MN (the Loading Dock). While there I went up to Minneapolis to hang with him at his favorite watering hole one afternoon. A few years ago I called him (his number was listed on his website) the afternoon of his last concert to thank him for his music and his contribution to mine. RIP

Rolling into a cafe that was closing already for the night on Beacon Hill. Boston. He and then Bobby Zimmerman played late into the night.

Caught him in Bury Lancs UK of all places - great gig and also loved his version of Duncan and Brady which he gave to Tom Rush, who said he´d never record it but then did. At this sad time try and find it - it may raise a smile. Steve R. UK.

I attended a Koerner, Ray, and Glover concert at Stevens Auditorium sometime in the '60s and they were my introduction to "real" blues and folk. In the early '70s I sometimes heard "Spider" John Koerner at the Triangle Bar on the West Bank, I have collected the records of the trio and I continued collecting Koerner's albums after he was alone. I am so grateful to have his music in my life.

What an incredibly talented guitarist and singer/songwriter. Truly a legend in his own right that will be missed. Heartfelt condolences to the Koerner family and friends, so very sorry for your loss. May God be with you all at this time of your loss.

John came to my 50th birthday (30 plus years ago) and dropped a fragment of a Fe-Ni-Co meteorite into my hand -- very shiny, very heavy, very cold. A piece of the universe from very far away, very long ago. We stared at it for a while and I gave it back. And now John is with the stars.
