John Charles "Skip" Krause

7/30/1946 - 10/27/2024

In loving memory of John "Skip" Krause who passed peacefully on 10/27/2024 at 78 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Gail Borden Krause and leaves behind sons John Christopher Krause and Bryan Andrew Krause (Kim), stepsons Eric Weingarten (Kristy) and Neil Weingarten (Andi), and grandchildren Julianna, Christopher, Colin, Brendan, Dawson & Jake Krause and Asher, Scarlet, Sophie & Eli Weingarten.

John was a graduate of Lasalle College High School and post high school proudly served in the United States Army (Criminal Investigation Division). He was stationed in Fort Bragg NC, Fort Benjamin Harrison IA and finally Seoul Korea as a Warrant Officer before he was honorably discharged in 1971. John went back to college and earned a Bachelor's degree from Lasalle College and a Master's degree in education from Antioch College. He spent almost his entire professional career with the School District of Philadelphia and retired from his role as Principal of the George W. Nebinger Elementary School in June of 2006. His passion was the outdoors including hunting, fishing, boating & hiking. John had a captain's boat license and enjoyed deep sea fishing and fly fishing. He was involved with Green Valley's Association, Dame Juliana "Fly Fishers" League & Trout Unlimited. He loved to stock trout in the creeks, tie his own flies for fly fishing, do creek and trail maintenance, and had a great appreciation for all things nature. John was a talented photographer and loved photographing birds, nature, and his grandkids sporting events.

Skip, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, will truly be missed.
