So saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. In this time of sorrow and loss rest assured our thoughts and prayers are for him.
Jack and I grew up in a quiet peaceful gold mining town, Charters Towers, North Queensland, Australia.
We loved to visit Granny Kruger whose home was at the foot of Towers Hill. Here we would climb the hill. Other times take the Billy Goat cart pulled by Kewpie the goat and venture up the hill. Kewpie would also take us up to the paddock to feed the horse. Horse and sulky was our main transport then.
When Jack’s mother Hazel died early the family moved in with us. We grew up as brother and sister and we’re always great friends but very competitive.
We corresponded all our lives. I am going to miss him but have fond memories I will cherish.
I also lost my husband Barney of 66 years a few days before Jack and a nephew who was a Police Inspector in Brisbane our state capital.
It leaves a deep void but I feel they are in a better place. God bless you all.

I have only knows Kim and Lester for a few years but, notwithstanding personal difficulties, Kim has always impressed me as a person who never let difficulties control her life.
Little can be said to truly offer comfort at this time. I will remember Kim and her family at Sunday mass and daily prayers. Reading of John Patrick Kruger’s life, drive and accomplishments makes it easy to see where Kim got her values and strengths.

I am very sad with this news.John hired me as Director of Economic and Policy Research in his newly established CAO office . He was demanding but never too busy to advise and guide when requested to do so and when I needed it. John was a skilled bureaucrat with a lot of political savvy. He often left the office at nite with two briefcases- one for the CAO responsibilities - and one for the other special duties Council frequently gave him in running Metro's Agencies ,Boards or Commissions that were in trouble. He was a mentor and great boss. Thought the rest of my career ,when faced with difficult decisions I found myself automatically asking ,what would John do in this situation. Great mana great leader and a great friend.

He was the Chaiman when i was a member of the Ontario Municipal board and he always treated the members with respect and went out of his way to see that they received all the needed support in performing a difficult job. He was a capable administrator and when he retired he left behind a strong Board that related with the needs of the Province and his citizens. Felt condolences to his family.
