John Edgar Lambert ABINGDON, Va. Mr. John Edgar Lambert, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born in Fries, Va., son of the late William Kent and Katherine Heldreth Lambert. He attended Men with a Vision Ministry. John enjoyed restoring cars, especially Ramblers, and frequently attended tractor shows. He also loved motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lambert; his sons, Barry Lambert and wife Chaesun of Harker Heights, Texas, Brady Lambert and wife Loketta of Martinsville, Va., and Benjamin Danner and wife Sandy of South Port, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Debra Petry and husband Josh of Abingdon; one brother, Bobby Waller and wife Kathleen of Hillsville, Va.; three sisters, Patricia Hill and husband Gene; Gail Williams and husband Johnny and Sue Melton and husband Virgil, all of Galax, Va.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Lambert, Elizabeth Lambert, Madison Danner and Maggie Danner; three step-grandchildren, Meghan Roark, Chynna Counts, and Jorden Counts; several nieces and nephews; and his Cocker Spaniel, Molly. He is also survived by his special friends, Ray and Ann Jones, Bob Wagner, and Don Wirt. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital, especially to Greg and Danny. The funeral service for John Lambert will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Tim Norris and Minister Eddie Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Roger Gobble, Danny Owen, Perry Wagner, Ray Jones, Josh Petry and Matt Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Wagner, Rick Mullins, Steve Baldwin, and all his Denton Farmpark buddies. If you plan to attend the service and are a motorcycle rider, the family invites you to ride your motorcycle as part of the procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, from 6 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Brenda John was a class mate of mine since the 3rd grade I remember a lot of fun times through the years of school . Was so sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers will be with you.

John was my pawpaw and the times we shared together out in his garage through out the summers were mind blowing. We would be out there from what I thought was gonna be a minute or two to being from morning till eight at night. The stories he told me and my friends will always be in my heart to be passed on to my generation and hopefully many more. The times I would spend fiddling around on old things made me realize the value of what life really was and what it was all about and how life was WAY before I was even thought of. He was always there when times were rough even though his times were rougher. And he always helped me and my friends through those time, first thing he would say is lets go to the garage, then the stories and fiddling around on stuff that before I would have thought were junk untill I knew what they ment STARTED and the hours FLEW by. Well i've shared my times and memories could go on but i'll save the rest for later. Love you pawpaw!
