I was shocked to hear of John's passing. He was a great person and I know everyone will miss him. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers .

I just heard about John's passing today at church. I am so sorry to hear that we have lost such a kind, honorable man so young. May it help you to endure knowing that he is now serving our Lord in new ways in His very presence, and you will be with him again one day.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a very dear customer of ours and a very nice, caring individual. We had the pleasure of meeting him on several different occasions and we thought very highly of him. You all are in our thoughts and prayers!

I am so very sorry! John was such a rock to Gates County! When I had the pleasure of running into him while visiting my family or up at the hardware store, I knew I was "home". He was one of those individuals that his solid presence (along with his incredible smile) would just make us feel good and leaves us truly honored to have known him. His strong moral character, dedication to his family/friends/community, his kindness and extreme generousity make him such a giant among other men! Each of you in the beautiful Lane family, are in my thoughts and prayers!

Rita, Roger and all of John's family: Brent shared the sad news of John's passing with me last night.Please accept my condolences and wishes that you each find some comfort from each other and friends.

What can I say about John that everyone doesn't already know? John was John.. what you saw was what you got. You always knew where you stood with him. On any given day you would usually find him in a tractor or riding in his truck checking the fields. I think he had dirt running in his veins. He loved what he did and he did what he loved and a lot of people can't say that. John had the most brilliant smile and lucky for us he wore it often. I don't think he knew a stranger. John also had a very huge heart. He was never too busy to be kind. When my neice came to visit he would take her for a ride in his tractor or combine. That started when she was 4, she is now 26. She grew up calling him "Uncle John". She brought her son up last year (he was 4) and John took him for his first tractor ride! Aden has those pictures of that day hanging in his bedroom. John has touched so many lives by just being John. His life as a husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend will be cherished memories for us all. We have all lost a wonderful person. I am thinking of you all and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
