John E. Larson

PEABODY — John E. Larson, 56, of Peabody, died Saturday morning, Aug. 2, 2008 surrounded by his loving family at the Massachusetts General Hospital, following a two-year courageous battle with heart disease. He had been happily married for over 36 years with his loving and devoted wife Diane (Clarke) Larson.

Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Gaylord and Corinne (Spain) Larson. He was raised in Middleton and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School. Upon marrying his wife Diane, they moved to Ipswich were they lived for six years, before settling in Peabody for the past 30 years.

In 1986, along with his wife Diane, John realized his dream and opened his own automotive service shop, Larson's Service Inc, in South Peabody. John was a hard-working man and talented enough to fix or build anything. He enjoyed home remodeling, anything to do with automotive, and he had a passion for off-road Hummering.

John lived a good life and along with his family, he will be greatly missed by good friends, neighbors and clients.

Besides his loving wife and best friend, Diane, John is survived by two daughters, Lisa and her husband David Limongiello of Salem and Corie Larson and her fiance Kevin Silva of Beverly; two brothers, Tom and his wife Sheryle Larson of Gilbert, Ariz., and Joseph and Debbie Larson of Peabody; two sisters, Corinne and her husband Sal Sirianni of Springhill, Fla., and Gail and her husband John Alexander of Beverly; a brother-in-law, Andrew and his wife Jane Clarke of Nashville, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Donna Englehardt of Riverside, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Clarke of Peabody; and by his beloved granddaughter, Katelyn who brought many smiles over the last two years, and also by many nieces, nephews, and aunts and uncles.

ARRANGEMENTS: A family memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:05 until 8:05 p.m. Due to severe allergies in the family, the family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Lori Corbett Scholarship Fund, C/O Salem Five Bank, 495 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915.
