Gary Lauterback
November 19, 2022
I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. My best wishes and condolences to all the Lauterbach family.
I am "Gary" Elden Clare's brother's (Gerald C.) son.
Gerald changed the name Lauterbach to Lauterback sometime around WWII. Thus we are family too.
John was in my memory, always the front runner, the leader of the pack.
The last time I saw John, was in the Mid-1990s. His Aunt Marge, my mother had passed away. John drove up from the LA area to pay his respects and to see his Uncle, my dad.
As John was leaving, he gave me advise that was well received. He glanced up at the roof of our house, and told me "Get that roof fixed." Smiled and backed out of the drive way.
Family . . . keep in touch ... please!

To the family of John L my thoughts are with you, so very surprised to hear of his passing. I worked with John at Gledhill Chevrolet and Newport Auto Center. I learned early on that I just met the best salesperson ever and someone I admired very much. Made me laugh and had great stories to share. Never a dull moment when John was around and never heard him speak negatively about anyone, reason because everyone felt like I did, he was our celebrity. He would greet those he knew with "Hey Buster!!" Rest in Peace my friend. John L will remain in my thoughts, along with his incredible zest for life.
