When I was a kid my dad helped me with my math and computer programming. In college he helped me with my term papers . I wrote them long hand and he had them typed . He also authored my college essays .
I traveled the Middle East because of him. Learned Arabic and was ultimately Christiansted in the Greek Orthodox church because of him.
He was my dad. We didn't always see eye to eye. But we loved each other. I will forever miss my Dad.

Dr. John was an amazing mentor to me during my time at NYU. Indeed, working in the LeGeros´ lab afforded me the opportunity to pursue a new career path. His and Racquel´s guidance and support were vital in my learning and development as a budding scientist, and I am thankful for their kindness and generosity during my initial years studying abroad in the US. Your memory will live on as this tree blossoms and grows. We will miss you.

I had the privilege to closely know and work with Dr John LeGeros on a daily basis for more than five years when I was at NYU. I even lived together with them in his and Dr Racquel LeGeros´ apartment for several months upon my arrival in NYC. He was such a kind and generous person, always welcoming me and always looking out for me. I have missed him and I will miss him even more.

A man's worth is measured by how he parents his children. And if that is true, John LeGeros has a worth in the billions! Every year when I'd bring my son to child birthday parties, I was able to not only learn from Dr. LeGaros but interact with his wonderful progeny. The lives of his children say what's best about him.

So many. Big John was the guy that always made you feel like you wanted to hug him. A warm and caring person the most gentle demeanor. A great and supportive father and husband. I´m so lucky to have been able to know him and won´t be able to ever watch "Up" without thinking of him the whole time. Thanks for everything Johnny!
