John Lander Leonard Ph.D.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University in 1980. Dr. Leonard was one of my favorite teachers. I studied him in at least two classes. I enjoyed him very much.

My condolences to the family. I´m sure he will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. John will be truly missed by so many. He touched so many lives and had such a wonderful influence on everyone. My Dad just passed away on March 18th so maybe he and John are now catching up with each other.

My name is Nicki Ollar, but when I was a little girl my name was Nicole Lupo, I shared a large part of my young years with Allegra and also with Mr. Leonard. He used to take us boating frequently, I always remembered him to be a patient teacher in all things he did with us, a kind man and someone I always respected. I am so sorry for the loss to his family and I send my deepest loves to you all. He was a great man in my memory.

He played until his last few days.
He portrayed while in this life of rays.
He practiced 'til a month before May.

For those that await a light to come, may their sounds be a continuum.

I only knew John from the Tucson Concert Band. He was always witty and fun to talk with. We are poorer for his passing. I know I am.

Liz Beaver, Tucson Concert Band. I especially enjoyed visiting with John when we met in Durango, Colorado at the train station. It was by accident, but a nice one. We were both surprised, but enjoyed a nice visit.

John, you will be with us in our hearts as we visit and hike in Yosemite this summer.

I am praying for your family. Your father was a joy, and he love you all. It was apparent in his eyes. He love you Allegra with all his heart. You could see you were his true light.
