I just read a lovely memory of your dear wife Barbara that
I had a difficult time completing
because it told the story of a
beautiful selfless mother and wife. I know there was great
rejoicing in Heaven when she
saw you and her other family members.
I know she is now resting with all of you in everlasting peace...
Sincerely,

William Bemonte

Jack was a magnificent man who will be missed.
He made profound contributions to Stamford through his leadership in our schools, his civic contributions, but most importantly as a father of a wonderful family. I humbly offer my condolences to
Barbara, and the extended Leydon family. His friendly face will be missed at our Hibernian Hall.

As the parent of a daughter who attended Westhill High School in the 1990's and being the liaison with The Youth Leadership Conference, I knew Jack Leydon as the Vice-Principal.
I had insight to the man he was...when asked, always willing to help; whenever I had questions, he was there to guide-- and provide my needed answers.
To his wife, children and grandchildren-
I just want you ALL to understand there are many of us out here whom you do NOT know but would like you to realize Jack Leydon also impacted OUR lives.
Once a teacher, our Mr. Leydon taught...
AND
as a man, he impacted lives.
In this day and age, we need MORE exactly like him.
Decent, honorable.
He is never forgotten.
I will remember him fondly and keep him in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Robin Benvenuto

My sincere condolences to the Leydon family for your loss. Mr. Leydon was a tremendous man, I first knew him while a student at Ripp then as a teacher at Rippowam as well. He truly cared about his students and I was also lucky enough to have him as my guidance counselor. He assisted me in many ways and was instrumental in me being admitted to Southern Ct. I later was lucky enough to teach at Ripp as well and he, again was one of my strongest backers. My respect for Mr. Leydon is, heartfelt, he was a great mentor and the perfect example of "Teacher". I'm indebted to him and my respect continues, he was an awesome man. Rest in Peace Mr. Leydon, you are the Best!!

An exemplar, the likes of whom are rare but indelible. Soft spoken, with words that could have the impact of a hammer. "Coach" far beyond the playing fields. Thank you.

Dear Leydon Family,
Jack and I grew up living near each other-----he on Willowbrook Ave and myself around the corner on Uncas Road. We were Altar Boys together at St. Mary's Catholic Church during the late 1940s and early 1950s. I moved away from Stamford in 1953 and lost track of him. It's satisfying to learn how successful his live has been in Stamford.
Rest in peace Jackie.
