In memory of
Steven Luce, Sr.
September 28, 2005
When you are born, the only thing your parents give you is your name. It is yours to corrupt, defile or hold honorably pure. John was one of the rare people who continued to hold his name pure. He built a good reputation as a kind, giving and compassionate soul. He did something that few of us will ever be able to do. His name and reputation was strong enough to bring his father into the same town and let him flourish. I proud to have him as my brother. I will miss him very much. Thank you John.

We were very sadden to hear of the loss of Mr. Luce. He was so compassionate and understanding when he helped our family with the arrangements and burial of my great-grandmother, Katherine Lafferty just over a year ago. He was a very nice individual and we appreciated everything he did for our family. Our prayers go out to your entire family.

John was a true family friend. He treated my mother, Alta, as if she was his own mother. My family will be forever indebted to him. He was always available to us, when we needed something done in Gettysburg. May God bless his soul. Ross

John was a very special person. He helped us through the loss of our family members. He would hold and comfort us like we were his life long friends. West River has lost the best funeral director we have ever had. He said he liked the way we did our funerals as there was always lots of friends, laughter and food.
