I have read and re-read every book Mr Marsden wrote. They are thought-provoking and have brought me so much happiness. I especially love The Ellie Chronicles...the best teacher ever. What a gift to Australia: Ellie, Gavin, Homer, Lee , Bronte and friends : they will live on. thanks to their creation by Mr Marsden. Thank you. My condolences to his family. A relevant author!!

John regularly attended my pizza shop. He was always engaging and we had some really interesting conversations about the state of the world and parenting among other topics. He hated pineapple on pizza for the record. Such a down to earth and engaging human being who always made time for a chat despite his obviously demanding workload. Was great to get to know you a little John. Rest in peace!

John was our neighbour after he purchased the Tye Estate at Kerrie Victoria. He used to ride up to mum & dads property at Kerrie with his dogs in tow sitting up on the quad bike with him.
My memories of these visits are good. He was a lovely man.
Dad ended up allowing John to buy mum and dads 232 acres that adjoined the Tye Estate. I'm sure everyone in my family misses 'Kerrie' more than words can say. As a child the Tye Estate felt like it was ours as well. There are parts of the property that remind me of scenes from Tomorrow series.
RIP John
I love his poem for the 21st century...
We do have a few great pics of John at Kerrie. Ill have to try to find them.

So sorry to hear of John's death. He was a lovely man - very humble and empathic - a natural teacher. Humanity is all the poorer for his passing.

I remember working with John Marsden on his property Tye Estate, when he had a birthday we gifted him a trio of ducks. he was delighted as he had never received a living present. we all laughed about it. he gave much joy and invited children to explore outside the classroom and use their imagination. he will,be missed by many.
