News Death Notice

MARSHALL, John E. 84, of Springfield, died at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 in Fishers, IN. He was born January 29, 1927 in Springfield the son of Roy C. and Reva (Terrell) Marshall. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Budde Sheet Metal for over 30 years retiring in 1989, was former Mayor of Donnelsville and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Survivors include two sons and spouse, Tom & Carol Marshall, Indianapolis and Timothy Marshall, Jensen Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Jarrett & Ali Marshall, Jason Fleischman and Heather & Josh Williams; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Erma Mae & Bernard Vail, Springfield; sister-in-law, Helen Marshall; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Marshall and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred in 2003, one sister, Mildred Glasebrook and a brother Roger Marshall. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Premier Hospice, 11550 N. Meridian St., Carmel, IN 46203.

There will never be enough words to explain how much you meant to me, Uncle John. I'm sad because I know I didn't tell you enough, or see you enough or talk to you enough, but I'm hoping that you knew how much I loved you. You are the best Uncle that anyone could have. Give Aunt Millie a hug and kiss for me. I know you've missed her.

My sisters, Cindy, Patty and myself worked with John at Budde Sheet Metal Works. John's quiet ways were only enhanced by his infectious smile. Thank you, Marshall Family, for sharing John with so many others. He definitely brightened our lives. May God bless and keep you in His loving arms.
