Our sincere condolences to the family of John Mau. While you have no idea who we are, several years ago my family had a need to use McCoy Pavilion for an event. I was given a number to phone and the call was answered by John. That afternoon we met and I have considered him to be a very special friend since. During the next few years we used the facility a few more times. I always looked forward to being there because it gave me the opportunity to visit with him. It was something I looked forward to. A few years ago, I learned of his sickness while with him at the park. It broke my heart! While it appeared so unfair that this warm gentleman had been struck with this terrible disease he wanted no help or assistance. He was as humble a man as they come and I am very sad to hear of his passing. You will all be in our prayers.

John was a wonderful man who was very lucky to have his kids, Tanya and Jay take care of him these past few years. I always remember him helping out with the household chores; cooking, cleaning and playing sports. As a young teen, I would visti almost every year and also stayed with his family for 4 months. By the way his kids turned out, I guess I wasn't a bad influence to them! He had such a warm heart and I was glad to see his smile a week before he passed on. I will miss him greatly as well as my whole family and I'm thankful for all the memories I have of him.
