The curtain on Mayall's long, rich life is a deep burgundy velvet with gold brocade and dusty clouds of memories from many acts and characters. He influenced many big wheels but Mayall was a fulsome entertainer and recording artist. There were dance numbers on the jukebox at the beer garden where I drank and later worked. Then in 1979, a guy took me to see the Bluesbreakers live. He wouldn't dance but urged me on and that night I learnt that to dance alone with a quality live band was to kiss the blues goodbye. So many great records but my favorite remains Blues from Laurel Canyon. Vale to a great.

Thank you for the music.
I was lucky to see John and the band in Australia in the early 70's.
Such a brilliant musician and singer.

My family ,the Tate family was so fortunate and blessed to have met John. We used to visit the Mulholland home with his daughter Tracy(aka,May b Red) and her brother Spencer.Tracy and I share the same birthday April 14th. I remember walking down the path in the back to go to the theater. John and Maggie( If I remember) always welcomed us and were so hospitable! I wish we had kept in touch with Tracy. John was an amazing, beautiful and loving person who touched so many lives. We've truly lost a legend which is so heartbreaking! Praying for the family during this tough time. This one hurts so bad! Tracy we think of you often, so many good memories from Venice Beach on Rose remember?
