hi guys, its Corey here. Im sick and can't be with you today for the service. I loved your dad lots. for me, cottage life will not be the same as i hung out with him almost every time i went up. he and i were planning to fish a lot this summer. i take great pleasure in knowing Jerry watched over the building of our new cottage. the guys there would tell me that Jerry would pass by every few days to see the progress. in the last many weeks they've been asking me...'wheres Jerry'. ill always remember;

his never ending big bass stories

whenever one would get loose, it was always a 5 pounder

he hated barbutts

i once watched him karate chop a barbutt in half

many years ago he thought that bass only ate at 4am. hence, he'd make us get up at 3am to be on the lake at 4am.

for every 1 minnow id catch, he'd catch a dozen

we once had a neighbour named Dave Stoddart. he was 6 foot 7 and weighed 380 pounds. He hated that Jerry always beat him in arm wrestling

my dad used to tell me..'when all is said and done...and your looking back at your life, you'll realize there was a few people who influenced you you were'. Jerry did that for me. when i was a teenager, he treated me as an adult and friend always including me in activities. he was genuinely interested in me and what i was doing in life. as time went on, i confided in him, he confided in me.

the world would be a much better placed if filled with Jerry's.

Me and Thomas were planning to fish all summer with him. we will miss him lots.

My sincere condolences, I'm so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing, I worked with Jerry at Bell/IBM since the late 70's. Jerry was my boss when i first started in B&D. I remember coming in late one evening and Jerry was at the window in B&D giving me his famous Grin, stuck out his hand to shake mine and aplied one of his famous grappling techniques,,"the old THUMB grab",,,LOL,,I got the msg! I soon after joined Jerry's Kung Fu school that he opened in Verdun with Mike in 1980/81. I learnt some awesome techniques, but i hated that "Horse Stance" that he made us do for about 30 minutes at the beginning of class. I also had some great times with Joe and Dave playing for the Bell hockey team,,,just a awesome trio to know and learn from in my Bell early days!,,,Rest in peace Jerry!,,,you will be missed, I said a few prayers for you last weekend and passed that on to Joe via ST ,,,, Mike Cox

My condolences to the McCarthy family. I worked with Jerry from the Univac days in the 70's to the day he retired. He had a way of making you laugh until you cried. He made a 12 hour shift go by before you knew it. Good racket ball player in the day and a great fisherman. He will be sadly missed.
