John McFarland Obituary
John Victor McFarland was born Sept. 3, 1922, to John R. and Mamie (Liebenow) McFarland in Wabasha County. Jim was a truck driver for Podein's for six years, owned and operated Hocking's Grocery Store for seven years and was a potato chip salesman for Old Dutch for 23 years. He married Esther M. Ahrendt on Oct. 31, 1943.
Jim enjoyed traveling, R-Ving, hunting, house boating and fishing. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Hodge, Rochester.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther; and a son, Curtis.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel, with the Rev. Nathaniel Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Rochester.
