The Park family
April 29, 2021
Jake and our daughter Tracey shared a close friendship and she invited him to visit her at the family's fledgling insurance agency to renew his auto insurance and at the same time meet her kith and kin.
For us, it was unexpectedly the beginning of a rich and enduring friendship that grew over the many years. It was endlessly enhanced by the memories that we shared while building Riverbank Ranch, our new home in Chase, BC.
Jake became a treasured member of the family over the many years he shared his life and talents with us prior to his passing. We have never been able to replace the comfort and support of his companionship.
What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies. (Aristotle)

In 1977 I met Jake at North Shore Marine, Mosquito Creek Marina. He hired me to work with Scott (his son) painting the bottom of boats, scraping barnacles, learning the parts business and chasing outstanding accounts receivables. If Jake couldn't fix it then it couldn't be fixed!
Working for Jake was a wonderful experience as he shared his love of boats and his love of Cato Scotch (which he also taught me to enjoy). Regretfully we lost touch over the years but some of the lessons he taught me will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Jake at North Shore Marine Service and remember him as one of most patient, innovative and skilled people I've met. It was a great experience.
