It's a lovely spring day in 2025 & as I look up at the clouds you've come to mind. I worked with you at the Quality Hotel . Such a stressful, busy environment but you were always so calm and had the warmest smile with a sweet gentleness. You never looked down on any staff no matter what rank. I remember how much you loved your beautiful dog. I envy heaven because we are missing you down here. You truly exuded kindness!

Very sorry to learn of John's passing. I last spoke to him in mid-February and as always it was a pleasure. He was my go-to at the hotel and I will miss him.

As you know my beloved, it is Jack's Birthday today. I know you are with him and that you have never left his side. He misses you so much, that sometimes it makes me want to cry. I feel you when I come to get your angel and she always looks in the bedroom before we leave, just like she is saying see you later dad, I'm going to the beach with Anti Sue. You are always in my thoughts and while this year will be the hardest for the love of his life, I hope he realizes that you have never left, maybe in body, but not in spirit. Love you John.

John, I will miss our last minute email bookings, our rants over why the Canucks just couldn't seem to score a goal, and just your easy going mannerisms that made you so easy to talk to and confide in. Our conversations always brought a smile to my face. I will miss you my friend!

WOW, what an immeasurable loss! John, you lived, you laughed, you loved. You listened, you encouraged, you inspired. You were so many things to so many people. I will miss your humorous ways of dealing with difficulty. Your animated way of telling stories and your genuine charm and personality. As best of the best, I can see why God wanted his angel back. My heart goes out to everyone who knew you and feel the loss of a dear friend. For those of us left behind, you gave us great memories to hold and share. Lets keep them going. To the family and friends, SMILE, it is what John would want.

John, we are going to miss your smile and amazing rapport with the customers here at Fraser Downs. Everytime a customer sent in a glowing review of the "Homestretch" it had so much to do with you and your amazing personality. To all your friends and family - we are very sorry for your loss. Jasmine & April please know that we are thinking of you.
May you rest in peace John.

We were fortunate to have John for a family friend for nearly three decades. When the "ons" came over, my grandsons rejoiced because we all knew it would be a lively evening. John was a loyal friend to my daughter through some very hard times in her life. We appreciated his unwavering support and his good humor, even during hard times of his own. We will miss him and wish he could have been here longer, but it was a privilege to have known someone who so well exemplified good will and generosity of spirit. The finish line came too soon, but you ran a great race, John.

I will always remember John as he was the last time I saw him at my house for dinner, tanned, beautiful, ageless with his warm smile and infectious laugh.
John sparkled wherever he went, with his sense of style, quick wit and zest for life. His eyes, bright like a fire and smile warm like a hug.
He was a loyal, genuine and generous man who's warmth and inclusive nature will be missed beyond measure. He has a special knack for making and retaining friendships. He didn't ever miss a birthday, always finding friends and ensuring he was the first to wish them on their special day with a card, a call and often a song. He always had time to listen to encourage the best in us, even when we weren't giving our best. His openness and warmth were contagious and although he leaves us too soon, we are all blessed to have known him.
To the remaining member of the On's, let us all take a moment and say a prayer for our friend John, remember the fun crazy times together (which I shall not print) during the last 28 years. Although our hearts are broken lets cherish the fond memories of growing up together with our dear, jovial kindhearted ring leader.
Jack , my sincerest condolences, you have lost and exceptional partner. He adored you. (and Hershey too)
To John's loved ones, family and special nieces and nephews (whom he always spoke of with such pride and joy), I am deeply sorry for your loss and you are all in my prayers.
Dearest John, I will cherish our memories and go forward embracing family and friends as you did living your life to the fullest.
With Love,
Suzanne AKA Suzonne xoxo

John wasa great friend in high school. He loved us all unconditionally made us laugh out loud and was always there when you needed a hug or a shoulder to cry on. I lost touch with him a while back but thought of him the other day. I will no longer wonder when i get to see my dear friend again, it will just have to wait. Love you John, always have and always will. Please take care of yourself. I am sad for you to leave. Until we will meet again xoxo

JOHN ... you were such an important part of our maternal Douro, Ontario 'Heffernan' family tree branch, and our close dozen generation of cousins will never be the same without you here to laugh and share stories with. You have left a great example and good memories of being an amazing son, brother, relative and friend. I hope that Michelle, Bob and their families eventually find peace with your sudden passing in knowing that you stand in the heavens with your Dad Jim, mother Marcella, aunt Doreen and uncles. Rest easy dear cuz.

My Dearest Uncle John,

From the moment we met we instantly became fast friends.
You always loved me for who I was and celebrated me.
I always very deeply felt your unconditional love.
You never faltered in your love for the people closest to you.
Your vibrant smile never wavered.
There is a huge void in my heart now that you have left us far too soon.
Please stay close to us, as life with out you will be sad and vacant.
I will honor your life.
I will celebrate you.

All my love,
~C
