John Melnick Obituary
He was formerly employed by IMC Chemical, formerly Trojan Chemical, Catasaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Demetrius and the late Anna (Ferki) Melnick.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Tamaqua.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Deborah J., wife of Rodney Wertz, a son, Stephen M., and his wife, Edna, and two brothers, Frank and Stephen, and his wife, Catherine, all of Tamaqua; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and George; and two sisters, Helen Weiley and Mary Lazalere.
Service: Funeral service 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiaitng. Interment private. Call 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday. Contributions in his name may be made to Arcadia Hospice, 7248 Tilghman St., Suite 160, Allentown, Pa. 18106. May your sorrows be replaced with ALL the fun memories of John.
I will always remember the hat wearing and the dancing to the Polka music on Saturday nights, and how he would always try to push me over with his legs and of course his BIG smile.
