John Mudrick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 6, 2025.
John Andrew "Jack" Mudrick, 81, passed away on January 7, 2023, in Clewiston, Florida. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community member, Jack's life was marked by dedication to family, faith, and hard work.

Born on May 1, 1941, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jack grew up in Stratford, Connecticut and graduated from Stratford High School. He went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. After completing his military service, Jack returned home and joined the family business-Mudrick's Appliance Store-a cornerstone of the local community founded by his parents. For over five decades, Jack worked tirelessly at the store, continuing the legacy his family began and becoming a familiar and trusted face to generations of customers.

In addition to his professional life, Jack was deeply rooted in his faith. A lifelong member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Stratford, Connecticut, he remained committed to the Catholic tradition even after relocating to Clewiston, Florida. His spiritual devotion was a guiding force throughout his life.

Jack shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife Dorothy. Together they raised five children: daughters Dawn Noel, Michele Mudrick, Deborah McGrath, Amy Mudrick; and son John Mudrick. Jack also took great joy in being a grandfather to seven grandchildren who brought him immense pride and happiness.

Outside of work and family life, Jack found great pleasure in fishing. An avid fisherman, he competed in numerous fishing tournaments over the years. Whether casting a line from shore or heading out on open water, fishing was more than a hobby-it was a passion that brought him peace and camaraderie.

Jack's legacy is one of steadfast commitment-to his loved ones, his community, and the values he held dear. His memory will live on through those who knew and loved him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
