John F. Murphy

I was blessed to have Mr. Murphy as my math teacher many years ago. I was surprised to cross paths with him and his beautiful wife several years ago and he remembered me! The love and care he took of her will always remain in my heart. He cared deeply for my in-laws and we kept in touch until recently. He taught me much about life, love and family. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word, he loved his family beyond words and would do anything for them. My prayers and thoughts to his children and their families.

My condolences to the family. I met John many years ago when he would come to breakfast at friendlys. One of the nicest people I have ever met and had the pleasure to serve. May he Rest In Peace.

John Murphy will always be special to us. I met my wife in Mr. Murphy's Algebra I class in 1952 and went on to marry her 7 years later. I had Mr. Murphy for three years of math at Rockville HS and then went on to become his colleague on the faculty. I always found him to be a scholar in math and a gentleman in person. We are delighted that he had a wonderful long life. We also found his wife to be a warm wonderful person. May you find peace and contentment in the knowledge that they both had wonderful lives together.

I had the pleasure of becoming one of Mr. Murphy & his wife's friends at Woodlake over 11 years ago. He was a true gentlemen and I will always remember the care and love he showed for his wife Eleanor. God Bless you!
