He passed on his light to all he met. Now his light will shine on forever. May we follow his example and pass on the light to one another.

Father John left our Three Saints parish while I was very young. I saw him many times at our church but I was surprised to see him in my mom's hospital room one day not long before she passed away. We had such a nice conversation and I'll always remember his asking me almost every time we met after that whether I knew what my last name meant. He was truly a goodhearted , faithful servant of God with a witty and kind demeanor. I and many people will be sad not to have him part of our physical lives anymore but we were blessed to have known him.
Memory Eternal.
Heartfelt prayers to Matushka Eugenia and family.

Dear Matushka Eugenia, Fr. Leonid, and all the Family and Parish,
We are so sorry to hear of Fr. John's passing. What a wonderful priest - we will miss him a lot!
But we rejoice that our All-Gracious Lord granted him a Christian ending to his life on this earth, with a glorious Paschal funeral coming up!
May his Memory be Eternal!
With love and prayers for you all,
Drs. David and Mary Ford

V. Rev. John was a light...his enthusiasm, learning, and grace shone through in all his interactions. His sense of humor and light touch, however, can mask his very serious importance to the Orthodox Church in the United States, working both behind the scenes and out in front as a true and faithful servant. He will be missed and we are grateful for all that his has done. He has run the race and fought the good fight, now let him enter into the joy of the Lord!

My most heartfelt and deepest sympathy to Matushka Eugenia and her family on the loss of her most beloved husband, Fr. John Nehrebecki. Fr. John will always be a part of our lives, both to those close or far away in miles. I will miss his many loving phone calls and shared wisdom. His example of living out his deep faith, love and commitment to God, and to his wife, children and friends will forever be remembered in our hearts.
