Dear John, Karen and Diane,
We are so sorry to hear about your loss. Your Dad was a great guy. Pat worked with John at Numatics and we got together at times with your family when you were just children. After we moved up north we would stop on our visits downstate to have lunch with your Dad. We knew he would go over to Colombiere and visit the retired Jesuit Priests and that they looked forward to his visits. Although our times together over the years were not nearly frequent enough our friendship still remained in all of our hearts. For many years Pat(Skarnulis) and John walked on their lunch hour from Numatics to M-59 and back. During those walks John and Pat "solved" all the world's problems. We will truly miss those occasional telephone calls or visits. John is probably up in heaven discussing religion with the Priests he so graciously conversed with at Colombiere. He was very proud of his family. His presence here on earth is a loss, but a gain for Heaven. Pat and Mary Skarnulis

John was the best Baptist volunteer Colombiere Center ever had, such a caring person to the elderly priests that lived there. I know he and the men are having a grand reunion in heaven It was a pleasure to know him

A wonderful and beautiful man. We would often see John on our morning walks, where we'd stop and share a few words or compliments. He would stop at our lake lot and pray/meditate and do some tai chi. A very kind soul to have known. Proud to be a veteran; thank you for your service, John. Rest In Peace.

What I remember most about John is his testimony for the Lord. To and from volleyball and softball games, John enjoyed discussing things that he had recently read in the Bible. He was a man of faith. . . a true brother-in-the Lord. I look forward to seeing him in heaven because of our mutual trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John, you were a great neighbor. We always marveled at his strength to do healthy regular walks about Clarkston. He motivated me to stay healthy, too! Rest in Peace.
