John Noffsinger Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 12, 2025.
John Curtis Noffsinger, 74, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at UH Geauga in Chardon, Ohio. Born on November 1, 1950, in Eastlake, Ohio, John lived a life marked by dedication to his family, profession, and community.

A proud alumnus of Eastlake North High School's Class of 1969, John went on to build a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer spanning over 35 years. His professional journey included roles at respected companies such as Picker, Technicare, Actron, and Bevcorp. Later in life, John embraced a new path and served as a manager at Standard Parking for more than 12 years before retiring in 2022.

John's commitment to service extended far beyond the workplace. He was deeply involved in the local equestrian community and was especially passionate about The Great Geauga County Fair. For 11 years, he faithfully served as Huntsburg's director for the fair following his tenure as Vice President of the Geauga Horse and Pony Association (GHPA). Known for his enthusiastic voice and warm presence, he loved announcing horse shows for both GHPA and the fair-roles that brought him great joy and allowed him to connect with countless members of the community.

A devoted father and coach, John spent many seasons guiding his daughters through volleyball, softball, and basketball during their youth at Kenston. His support from the sidelines was matched only by his encouragement at home.

John is survived by his beloved wife Maria (née Brancato); daughters Heather (Mario) Lerz and Holly (Jesse Fiediga); cherished grandsons Wyatt and Brett Lerz; and sisters Phyllis, Loretta, and Lois Jean. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Helen Noffsinger (née Popovic) and sister Janet Thistlewood.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Servants of Mary Center for Peace located at 6601 Ireland Rd., Windsor, Ohio 44099. In honor of John's lifelong enthusiasm for Cleveland sports teams, guests are encouraged to wear Cleveland sports attire.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence enriched the lives of those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
