In memory of
Kathleen Baker
December 22, 2009
My father Gene Owens was a cousin to Jack. Their mothers Moll and Nell were sisters. I loved grandma's stories about their adventures as girls of 13 and 15 on their own in America. Growing up my dad was very close to his cousins. I enjoyed visiting with Evelyn and Jack at family gatherings and later when I saw them around Lindstrom. When my husband was first in business,Jack and Evelyn helped him get a big job. That generousity, his amazing smile, and kind words are what I will always remember.

Dear Pat, Mary Ann and Girls,
Your Dad was such a good uncle when I was a child. He flew Colleen and I out to Minnesota for a months stay in 1956 and again in 1958 when you all lived in Golden Valley. We taught you to walk and babysat for you while Aunt Marie played golf. He took us all over, introducing us to people that my Dad had known and then he took us to my Dad's grave. He had the propeller of my Dad's plane in his basement.
I will always cherish the happy memories of those summers. I loved his mid-western accent and his deep, harty laugh. He was one of the few links to my Dad, Pat, and I now I pray that they are all in heaven together.
I send my deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Your cousin,
Terry O'Shaughnessy (Pat's daughter)

My dear family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as we lay to rest another of those wonderful and notorious O'Shaughnessy brothers. Uncle Jack - along with Uncle Tom - were really our earliest and closest ties to a family that may have been lost from Terry and I forever, except for their reaching out to us.
Uncle Jack flew us to his home twice in our early adolescence, and from then it was the rare family gathering at weddings, reunions, or funerals.
He and Eve also visited on their way to Arkansas vacations later in the 80's when Tony and I lived in Tulsa.
It was always good to see him, and know that he and his brothers still cared deeply about my Dad and us.
So it is with heavy heart that we say goodbye, and offer deep condolences to his family there. May he rest in peace - and may peace be with you now and in the future.

Uncle Jack was one of a kinda. As kids his visits with Evelyn to Kinvara in Co. Galway often with his brothers were highlights of our summers.
I remember my brother, Brendan, tickling his nose as he was stretched out on the couch taking a snooze.
The jars of olives and pickles, something you couldn't get in Ireland back then, were fought over for the few short hours they lasted in the fridge.
My condolences to Eve, Pat, Mary Ann and the girls.
He will be sorely missed by all here.
God bless Jack.
Your nephew.
Sean O'Shaughnessy.

Dear Jack was my first cousin. His mother Nell was my mother's (Kit) older sister. Both born in Bansha, Ireland. I had many cousins, most gone now. Jack O'Shaughnessy was a favorite of mine, always had a smile, always kind and differential to a kid fifteen years younger than he. When I was fourteen years old he tossed me the keys to his new Olds and told me to take a spin. Unbelieveable! His brothers, the twins, were very good to me also, as was Tommy, my ideal as a sailor. Jack's brother Jerry I last saw in Kinvera, Ireland with my sister, Sheila. I don't remember Jack's brother, Pat, an Army pilot who was killed during the war. Jack is with his brothers now. God rest them all. My condolences to Jerry and his tribe. Emmet
